Just like other toxins, drug metabolites will grow in your hair shafts, the inner hair shafts which are known as cortex will harbor drug metabolites and from the cortex they will get into the hair strands. The drug metabolites are pushed into the hair cortex as their hair grows and they look like shingles around the cortex.
The cortex is quite hard to penetrate but the drug hair test can still be performed using the outer part of the cortex.

hey i have a hair folicile drug test coming up i havent smoked in about a week or so and i really need to pass it what can i do or use to pass this screening PLEASE HELP ME i live in cleveland ohio is there any where i can go?
My husband & I have been heroin addicts for almost 12 years now & I’ve been using meth for about 8 years & he has been using it for about 10 years & we are both daily users. I was givin a hair follicle test about a week ago & being a licensed cosmetologist I knew that beating this test was going to be nearly impossible. But I knew I had a chance IF I bleached the hell out of my hair from roots to the very tips and I did that exactly. I waited until the day before the test &I took 50 volume developer & hair bleach (bought at beauty stores only) & carefully applied it all over making sure to not miss any hair. I then put a plastic bag over my hair & put under heat (blow dryer will do) long enough for it to heat up to open the hair shaft/cuticle so that the bleach can get in as deeply as possible. Now this is gonna start to hurt, try not to scrach cuz it’ll make it worse. I then rinsed after 15 min. w/cool water, shampooed it out. dryed the hair & started all over again (my hair color is dark brown) repeating the same procedure, remember to be very careful because if left on too long it can start to blister, my husbands did. in that case u have to just take it w/the pain if you HAVE TO PASS as we had too. U can put 7-up on your scalp after rinsing bleach that helps neutrilize it but so does conditioner, tho i know 7-up instintly makes your scalp feel better. I had to do my husbands 3 times & yes his head hurt but it paid off almost entirely. The test resuts came back negitive for everything except meth. For some reason no matter how many times we’ve bleached (we’ve done the same procedure on different occastions- but w/ more applications of bleach) neither one of us could get the meth out of the hair, leaving a positive result every time. For everything else ( other drugs) always came up negitive. we both have done many drugs so to get out all that we did was pretty amazing but again methamphetimines did NOT come out! Im not promoting drugs, to tell the truth- they’ve ruined our lives so if anyone wants to REALLY PASS the drug hair follicle test then my suggestion to you is -TO STOP USING DRUGS BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!
oh yhea, after bleaching the hair, you need to color it back to its original color unless you decide you like the blond but more than likely you’ll still need to tone it. AND DONT FORGET TO CONDITION IT ONCE A WEEK A DEEP HAIR CONDITIONER. otherwise your hair is gonna break off little by little or it may a lot so be very careful. If you love your hair, this might not be the thing to do! because it will cause A LOT of damage! If done wrong, your hair could be destroyed & un repairable so really think it thru before trying this.. And by all means, find someone that knows what their doing if you dont!
